Abstract

The manufacturing of Auto-body is a complicated, multi -level assembly process. In the assembly process, there is a systemic conventional measurement procedure which purpose is to ensure the high assembly quality. The daily measurements from parts of auto to body -in-white generate an overwhelming amount of data. Generally, to acquire the quality information of the auto-body, the measured values of the measurement points are put to compare with their design values. It will cost a lot time, but cannot comprehensively assess the auto-body quality yet. This paper mainly presents a comprehensive evaluation methodology for assessing the auto-body manufacturing quality. Based on auto-body quality control, this evaluation methodology applies Fuzzy Theory into the building of the mathematical models. And during modeling, the features of auto-body manufacturing are taken into mind adequately. The procedure of the modeling is described in detail in this paper. The benefits of this methodology are also demonstrated by application examples.
