Abstract
This paper describes stiffness effects on gear durability due to misalignment by shaft, bearing and case. First we develop the automatic mesh generator in order to reduce the modeling time. The calculation of stack-up for the misalignment is obtained by finite element method and compared with experimental deflection bench test data. An investigation for the durability by tooth flank modification just like lead crown considering the stiffness effect of each component is presented. Next we analyze the fatigue damage of gear for the bending stress in the condition of constant speed durability bench test and it shows the validity of the fatigue analysis results compared with the test results.
