Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the development of a simulation system for evaluation of circuit protection by fuses; this system automatically reconstructs the circuit associated with electrical parts using the netlist created by wiring CAD tools and calculates currents and voltages not only for steady state but also for transient state with the accuracy of less than 1%. If some fuses are found not to meet appropriate protection specification, an alternative is proposed using an intelligence algorithm based on the electrical and material theories of fuses. Simulation quality is primarily determined by the quality and quantity of database. We construct a database including all the important components of electrical systems of mass production cars by analyzing their electrical characteristics. In particular, we propose the electrical models of electrical parts using their real-time measurements of operating voltage and current in a predetermined test environment. For the convenience of users and the efficient presentation of the simulation result, we construct a graphic user interface based on the Microsoft Windows® platform.
