Abstract

Recently, Automobile manufacturers are designing the exhaust system concerning to the stability, economic environmental-friendly problems on improving driving condition, increasing number of vehicle and environmental problem. The more problems arise, the stricter environmental regulations about lowering fuel consumption, reducing emission along with noise and the vibration are established. According to developing various types of muffler such as a dual muffler and a active intelligence exhaust system. Improvement in engine performance and fuel consumption rate are required the data of pressure fraction and thermal characteristics. To be able to determine these factor, Each case is experimented on different exhaust system. In this study, it is discussed how back pressure is distributed in a flow-through adapted semi-active muffler in exhaust system and components, and how to design muffler flexibleness, efficiency, lower back pressure and optimal performance are examined. This study furnish basic data for engineers, technicians.
