Abstract

More safety and convenience of automobiles has been needed. Thus, the electronic control of automobiles is emphasized. The electronic technology of automobile will be developed for integration and intelligence as well as highperformance, safety, and convenience. ECU (Electronic Control Unit) that is a typical electronic system of automobiles must be produced under the constraints of high-performance, high-reliability, low-cost, and small-size. If an embedded system that can be used as a platform of ECU is used for developing ECU, it can reduce the development time of ECU. This paper proposes an embedded system that can be used as a platform by using object-oriented programming language. The proposed embedded system can be used as a customized personal computer for engineers to develop ECU. As a result, it can reduce the time to develop ECU. Also, new kinds of ECU’s can be easily developed.
