During the design and manufacture of motor vehicle frame and body, research of collision load is paid special attention to so as to protect the driver and others present on the motor vehicles upon the occurrence of collision. This press focuses on how to calculate deformation and stress of frame and body of “Saigon Van with eight seats” when the van collides directly to rigid barrier by simulation method based on ANSYS software with finite element model. The finite element model of vehicle frame and body is established on Solid Work software linked to ANSYS software. The calculated results with spectrum and graphics have determined deformation and stress value of the model, from which durability, solidity of vehicle frame and body upon the occurrence of collision can be assessed and evaluated.
