Abstract

Highly supercharging of internal combustion engine with intercooler is one of the most effective methods of boosting power, decreasing fuel consumption and improving exhaust emission. This article presents an approach to increase the power of six-cylinder diesel engine by using turbo-charger with high boost pressure. By this way, it is possible to improve the performance of engine applied to truck or bus. To do this work, the authors have used AVL BOOST and AVL TYCON software combining with experiment carried out in the laboratory of the Department of Internal Combustion Engine, Hanoi University of Technology (HUT).
