Abstract

This paper presents some new results on an optimization theory approach for vehicle suspension system parameters (suspension stiffness, damping ratio) determination. The Optimization algorithm is utilized to evaluate the target values based on the optimization max - min criterion and vehicle ride comfort constraints. The proposed approach is designed with consideration to these parameters in a range of vehicle speed under force witch taking action on the road which marks the novelty of this framework. Some simulations, using a four degree of freedom car model (4DOF) and Optimization Toolbox - Simulink Matlab, will be shown to illustrate the optimal solution for the set of structure suspension system parameters.
