Abstract

According to an updated report, Vietnam is at the bottom of unsatisfied atmosphere standard Asian chart in which the environmental pollution from vehicles (523,509 cars and over 13 mil. motorbikes) takes a big portion. So it is essential for a phase of applying emission standard EURO2 in 2007 to be put forward by the Government. However, before making this standard public it need to survey all running vehicle types to get a suitable applying phase. This article shows the results when testing some domestically assembled cars following EURO2 standard at Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine, HUT. This is the first emission approval test in Vietnam up to now.
