Abstract

The traditional method for design of engine items and gear box is based on the background theory. However each manufacturer uses different materials due to different techniques and economy so the unanimous application of material is highly concentrated for the confused fixing of parts. This report is aimed at representing the results analyze material’s composition of typical items of gear box including axis, tooth gear of gearbox of Zil (Russia), Hyundai (Korea) and the gear box of China truck by means of measuring micro cell hardness to constructing the hardness distribution map of the items’ section. A micro cell photography method is applied to define the depth of absorb layer on the surface of items. Analyzing he material composition of each sample item. On the base of measuring result, make the comparison and choose the material to be used, study the best way to increase the long-lasting and reduce the deformation caused by heat metallurgy during design for fabrication of the gearbox for light truck in Viet Nam.
