Abstract

Modeling method nowadays has been applying widely in designing and improving machine. AVL Boost is a modeling software that calculates thermodynamic and gas exchange processes in internal combustion engine. This article shows the results of determining boundary condition parameters when using Boost software to model the D243 diesel engine. The model’s accuracy gained by correcting parameters in order to have an equal between calculated cylinder pressure and measured pressure by indicating system. In addition, following that data, this model will be used to research on solutions of improving D243 engine to install on the boat.
