Abstract

A brief review of recent works related to the macroscopic spray characteristics in the application of Dimethyl Ether(DME) in the diesel engine conditions is presented. The problems in DME fueled compression ignition engine is included. The various DME based fuels include DME blended with diesel fuel, propane, vegetable oil, methane, CO2, oil from waste plastic, etc. Recent works and problems in the application of correlations for the prediction of spray tip penetration are discussed here briefly.
