Abstract

Recently, the development of vehicles requires the design quality improvement, the shorter period of development and the development cost reduction. In order to satisfy these requirements, it is important to predetermine the vehicle performance by simulation at the design stage.

Therefore, car manufacturers have developed the simulation technology and obtained excellent results in the development of vehicles.

We have developed the Digital Vehicle Model composed of "body represented by modal parameter of FE (Finite Element) model, suspension, steering, and drive train" to predict vehicle behavior by steering and vehicle vibration being transmitted from road surface and engine.

This paper describes the analysis results of the influence of body rigidity on the vehicle behavior and the effectiveness of the simulation technology by the Digital Vehicle Model.
