Abstract
In this paper both the reasons for monitoring tyres and the current tyre pressure monitoring systems on the market are discussed. This is followed by a description of RoadSnoop intelligent tyre products by Nokian Tyres plc. These are tyre monitoring systems for passenger cars and heavy vehicles. RoadSnoop Safety System uses Bluetooth and Mobile Internet technologies to provide services that improve comfort and safety of the driver. Finally, some possibilities of intelligent tyre technology in the future are shown.
