Abstract
It is a primary goal of any transport operator to optimize operations and make the employment of its vehicles as efficient as possible. This requires central data about the daily use of vehicles, such as average speed or standstill times.
The utilization of the optimization potential revealed in this manner equals a cost reduction and hence results in an improvement of the earnings situation of the transport operator.
At the same time, the operator of a public transport operator has the duty towards its principal to document the services provided in the form of
♦ distance traveled,
♦ number of persons transported,
♦ adherence to the schedule as a central basis of the agreement between the principal and contractor,
♦ etc.
Documentation of this data entails a not insignificant expenditure for the transport operator, regardless of whether this documentation is prepared by an external service company or the transport operator itself.
