Abstract
The planning of a project addresses time and means to carry out a customers requirement thus helping to manage the project. The specification of a completely new engine must be known quickly enough to ensure appropriate consideration in a project offer.
The following paper describes a method to lay out an engine to a customers requirement using rules of thumb , and experience data.
It will result in at least one design intent and proof of feasibility.
The following work was carried out at Dr. SCHRICK for a Diesel engine used in general aviation and applies basically to all fields of engine design and layout
