Abstract
AB Uppsalabuss is the public transport authority (PTA) in the city of Uppsala. In the area of the busoperation is approx. 135 000 inhabitants of total 200 000. The number of buses in operation in peakhour is 115, 10 electric powered, 42 biogaz, 2 hybrid and the rest diesel.
The traffic in the city is the worst impact on the environment and something must be done the next few years. Uppsalabuss is working with a vision concerning the public transport and if the decision to start towards this vision is made today it could be a reality 2015. In the vision there are a lot of different means of public transport such as People Movers, biogaz/hybrid/fuelcell and electric powered buses.
