Abstract

The huge majority of the harmonized EC-Directives or equivalent ECE Regulations is mandatory for the Hungarian type approval of buses. Besides it some non-equivalent ECE Regulations and some national provisions are to be applied. The approval of single vehicles is based on the same principles, however the number of regulations to be applied is slightly less.

The presentation shows type- and single vehicle approval experiences on the example of some chosen areas, which may be regarded as representative upon the tests of several bus types.

These experiences were utilised also to elaborate the technology of a voluntary production end-control procedure, supplementing to the registration approval. This end-control done by a neutral technical service is appropriate to certify the quality of the buses for the stakeholders

(manufacturer, sponsor, buyer, user).
