ABSTRACT-Electric power steering (EPS) has been widely applied on passenger car. But for commercial vehicles, as the front axis load are very huge, conventional single-motor driving EPS system can’t provide enough steering torque. In order to solve this problem, a novel dual-motor driving EPS system for commercial vehicle is proposed. And the determination of assistance characteristics curve, coordination control scheme of two motors and the fault tolerant strategy are studied.
