ABSTRACT
Recently, the demand of ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) functionality is sharply increased in automotive market which help avoiding glare to driver on the road The trend of operating mechanism for ADB system also has been moved from mechanical method using actuator to LED On/Off electrical control method using matrix beam pattern which special optical technologies are needed. The evaluation of performance for the matrix ADB functionality is done for the resolution of beam pattern controllable segements and how much can minimize the glare (pattern’s edge sharpness) and performance and evenness in highbeam mode. In this criterion, contriving diverse optical concept and optimizing/minimizing the number/size of modules are needed due to design requirement, performance for vehicle segment, cost requirement. This paper shows a variety of optical system types and functionalities and technologies as well of SL Corporation
