Abstract

ABSTRACT - In this paper, transmission loss (TL) of a vehicle dash was optimized in mid and high frequency. Firstly, SEA models and hybrid FE-SEA model of a vehicle dash were built, respectively. Through comparing TLs of simulation result and experimental data, the accuracy of the SEA model and hybrid FE-SEA model were verified, New material, which replaced traditional material, was chosen as sound package material of the dash. With considering TL of the dash and total mass of the sound package, a sound package optimization method based on the SEA model was proposed in high frequency and a sound package optimization method based on the hybrid FE-SEA model was proposed in mid frequency. After sound package optimization, TL of the final dash was increased by more than 1dB when compared to that of the original dash, and the total mass of the sound package was decreased by 38.6%.
