ABSTRACT - To improve the stability of imaging process, vibration failure of auto exterior rearview mirrors is analyzed. Considering the up and down vibration and the pitching movement of the lens on the steering gear, the model can be simplified as a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) vibration system. Lens, lens bracket and steering elements are used to establish the system, and MATLAB software is applied to map the corresponding vibration mode shape. Based on the experimental criterion of the rearview mirror, an optimal design function is presented and the applicable design parameters can be obtained.
