ABSTRACT-This paper describes the principle of the coherent analysis and the step to identify road noise source in coherent analysis. According to the phenomenon of vehicle interior poor noise as driving on rough road surface at a constant speed, through the vibration tests at the center of front and rear wheel spindle, the coherent power spectrum was obtained with the coherent analysis method. The result shows that the rear wheel spindle vibration signal was very strong coherent with vehicle interior noise signal, and rear wheel spindle vibration was the main sources that affected sound quality of interior noise. The method of coherent analysis realizes the identification of noise sources inside the car, the distinction of structure borne and air borne in road noise, and points out a new direction for reducing road noise as well as damping work.
