ABSTRACT

In the environment such as high oil price and a short driving distance of electric cars, weight reduction is the best way to achieve high fuel efficiency. On the other hand the lighter weight causes insulation performance of structure borne noise to deteriorate as the reduced damping effect of lighter mass, so road noise is increased.
Active noise control technique can be very useful to reduce road noise with light weight. Active noise control has used to only narrow frequency range like the engine noise and low frequency less than 250Hz. In this paper active noise control can be used to reduce broad band road noise and higher frequency less than 450Hz in the real vehicle. In this paper, for the materialization of Active Road Noise control (ARNC) system, all kinds of software- and hardware-elements have to be checked, and ARNC is performed in the real vehicle to satisfy the target reduction of road noise.
