Abstract

KEYWORDS – NVH, Cavity Fillers, SEA, Side-Body Model, Flow of Acoustic Power

ABSTRACT – Based on Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), a whole-body model of a car is built in this study. And then a side-body model is drawn out and simplified to analyze the flow of acoustic power from excitation sources to the acoustic cavity inside the passenger compartment. According to the results about the main excitation, major leaking positions and important paths of acoustic power, three different arrangements of cavity fillers are made and relative cavity fillers are put in the whole-body model. After analyzing noise reduction of three arrangements, we can get the optimal one. And then by comparing the optimal arrangement with the original arrangement, we find that the optimal arrangement is less cost and even presents better effect of noise reduction.
