ABSTRACT

The design of an active noise control (ANC) system for a new vehicle is complicated and time-consuming. This study developed both hardware and software for an ANC optimization method. An experiment platform based on a multi-channel adaptive notch filter was constructed and optimized. A new method was proposed in the software development to evaluate the performance of a multi-channel adaptive notch filter algorithm. This led to the optimization of key filter parameters. The hardware included the development of a structural– acoustic coupling boundary element model (BEM) to forecast the noise reduction area of the ANC system. A multi-objective genetic algorithm was used to optimize the arrangement of microphones and loudspeakers. The experimental tests proved that the optimization techniques led to a significant noise reduction area and fast convergence rate of the ANC system.
