ABSTRACT –

BSR(Buzz, Squeak, Rattle) noises occur in a system applying external vibration loads by road conditions and engine locally, i.e., BSR are local noises generated by structural factors between components of system. Because BSR are mainly detected on completion level of vehicle development processes, there are many limitations and restrictions on design changes for quality improvement. In this study, the BSR prediction processes were established by analytical and numerical approaches using FEA on design levels, and the door-trim which is a main BSR generating part in automotive interior plastic components was selected as target component. Author performs an analytical study for analyzing mechanism and cause of noise by external forces about doortrim. Sine sweep analysis and static analysis were performed to doortrim. Prior to perform analysis, BSR-risk area is selected by forced vibration analysis and algorithm. The analysis models are developed in the environment the same to the condition of the actual BSR evaluation experiments, and evaluated in terms of the algorithm considering the contact of BSR-risk area. The contact force, slip velocity, slip length are the key factors in the algorithm. As a result of the FEA, squeak and rattle are occurred under static analysis when the squeak/ rattle decision algorithm applied to doortrim. The effectiveness of the BSR evaluation method by FEA is verified by comparing the actual test. As a result that the actual test is performed by doortrim, squeak and rattle noise occur at the same area as a result of the algorithm.
