Abstract

A new point of view the finding efficient test process about automotive controller is proposed by Taguchi SBT (Software Behavior Testing) methods, which is a new making test case and analysis method based on the principle of Robust Design and Orthogonal Array. As a result of SBT application for MOD (Moving Object Detection) development, this paper examine thoroughly that SBT is applicability and effectiveness while verification of electronic systems to develop automotive industry and to meet customers’ requirements of various safety / convenience, the ratio of electrical equipment increased rapid. Verification of reliability on complex controller and presenting a right way to improve based on test results within limited manpower and during determined development period have gradually been highlighted. In case of a vehicle test in current development process, verification tests had been conducted considering interactions surrounding systems as well as customers’ available condition and outside environment of vehicle. But it’s actually impossible to test the total number of all cases. This study introduces applicability and effectiveness of Orthogonal Array in verification process on vehicle controllers by using a monitor to display vehicle surrounding objects with camera images and a SBT(System Behavior Testing, verification of system activity) method with an MOD (Moving Object Detection, recognition of an approaching obstacles from omni-direction) system.
