Abstract

This paper is a summary of an INVENSITY study [1] that analysed requirements for photo-voltaic systems on different vehicles on ground, sea and in the air. It demonstrates the innovative and environmentally friendly opportunities coming along with this development. Especially in combination with the development of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), photo-voltaic could play an important role. Based on results gained from a survey with experts from different original equipment manufacturers, estimates of market potential for photo-voltaic- systems on vehicles on roads, sea and in the air have been calculated [2].
