Abstract

Simulations with proper models are essential for powertrain noise & vibration analysis and design for improvement. Time domain and Frequency domain modelling and analysis are widely used for this purpose and time domain modelling tools are widely available, but experiments and theoretical analysis indicates that only time domain analysis is not sufficient for vibration analysis and design. Properties and Duality of Time and Frequency domain analysis is firstly introduced. One active vibration suppression system design is proposed based on Frequency domain analysis. Computer Algebra System (CAS) is used to build driveline dynamic model in Time domain and Frequency domain. Time domain simulation and frequency domain simulation are conducted to predict vibration behaviours and help to perform sophisticated analysis.
