Abstract
Mobility and transport systems, especially road based ones, are under stress. The stress comes from many sides: safety, energy, economic ones and while technology advances, the system is about to choke and becoming unaffordable. We argue that a different approach needs to be taken, whereby we rethink transport and mobility as a scalable system, focusing on the service offered and less on the means to achieve the objectives. We take inspiration in the aviation industry and propose a similar scalable, antifragile system based on a bottom-up mobility unit.
