Abstract
In this paper a method of lightweight design for high voltage battery pack based on multiobjective optimization is proposed. Through the simulation with and without lightweight design the range extended electric vehicle rear-end collision safety is evaluated and then improved. The test result indicates that range extended electric vehicle retains its excellent rear-collision safety though the battery pack is lightweightdesigned. The method is effective and can dramatically improve lightweight design efficiency.
