Abstract
Concept design of engine is critical for new engine development because it decides the fundamental structure and functions which influence the products performances eventually. However, it’s really a challenge to design the engine concept well because it’s not so clear of work contents by case and more importantly, it depends on the support of mature benchmark data. In this paper, one engine developing system for concept stage, which is called EFDES, is introduced. Thanks to its systematic work flow and with support of mature benchmark database, EFDES can efficiently help engineer to define engine overall targets and strip them down to component level in concept development stage. Compared to traditional work flow and commercial software, EFDES is test more systematically to carry out concept works to increase efficiency 20% at least and the accuracy can be controlled within 5%.
