Abstract
This study examined the effect of a self-learning safety education web system on one’s driving behaviour. Subjects were 35 drivers. They were asked to drive along each course before and after viewing the videos which are used on the web. We compared the data before and after viewing the videos at hazard spots. The results of Driving Simulator (DS) experiments indicate that driving behaviours can be improved to be safer after viewing the videos. Questionnaire investigations also indicate that drivers can be motivated to drive carefully. The results of real car experiments suggest that the educational effect can be reduced when drivers feel easy on familiar roads.
