Abstract
Pedestrian, ADAS, Safety systems, Intersection assistance ABSTRACT The project has the main target of developing a new test tool for the advanced driver assistance systems in intersection situations which have the recognition technology to detect pedestrian and vehicles. The development of all the components of the test tool is taking into account as secondary targets of the project. Specifically, these developments are the pedestrian and the vehicle that are going to be used. The pedestrian must simulate the behaviour and the movements that a real person has while walking. The vehicle simulates the body of a vehicle in a 1:1 scale. The whole installation has the purpose of filling this field in the regulations, following the standardization of the tools and systems included inside ADAS technologies (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). All these technologies and systems, recently appeared in the market, have an important development in the latest years, being one of the first main field of research and development in the automotive industry. The project is being developed by Applus+ IDIADA and the Cátedra Applus+ in automotive safety of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, setting up synergies between the company and the university and using all the abilities in research, development and innovation of both institutions.
