Abstract

This paper presents some aspects regarding a diesel-electric hybrid concept car. This original vehicle, named HAMSTER HYBRID-ELECTRICWAY 4WD, presented for the first time in this paper, is in progress within the Automotive Engineering Research Centre of the University of Pitesti on the mechanical platform of the DACIA SANDERO. The EcoMatic Hybrid System (Energy conversion with autoMatic Hybrid System), diesel-electric version, is a parallel two shafts, plug-in type, organized in a motorized solution E- 4WD (Electricway- 4WD). The diesel power train is mounted in front side, in transversally classic position and the electric power train is mounted in rear side. In order to perform the tests of the vehicle prototype, the electric power train and the diesel power train the laboratory Alternative Propulsion System & Renewable Energies will be used. This EcoMatic Hybrid System, ELECTRICWAY 4WD version was developed in such way that allows its application to the DACIA DUSTER E- 4WD concept car.
