Modern automotive industry requires high-end tools to assist analysts in the build-up of repeatable process workflows that capture proven practices and techniques used in a wide range of CAE disciplines. The different phases of simulation driven product development generate significant and increasing amounts of diverse data whose loose management leads to error prone procedures that can delay crucial decisions. Coupled with the exponential increase in computer power, the CAE engineer is called to complete a large number of analyses in various disciplines and proceed to multi-objective simulation or optimization as early as possible in the development phase.

BETA CAE Systems S.A. provides the means for the generation of consistent, repeatable and robust simulation process, to reduce the potential for errors, ensure that the right data is used for the right analysis, and provide a solution to the productivity and efficiency challenge. ANSA, a leading FE pre-processor in the automotive industry, integrates the functionality and tools to address the problem of efficient data and process management, to capture and maintain the enterprise knowledge and expertise in the CAE field, thereby increasing the confidence in simulation and improving CAE productivity.

This paper gives an outline of the challenges present in modern automotive industry and highlights the response required to intensify CAE processes.
