This article presents the development methods, Software in the Loop (SIL), Hardware in the Loop (HIL), Vehicle in the Loop (VIL) and the real test. A methodology is also introduced that enables an assessment of driver assistance functions on the basis of objective measurements. As a result of this universally applied development method, it is possible to exploit synergies and better achieve the target properties of the driver assistance functions.
