Automotive glazing represents a significant high volume application opportunity for engineering plastic materials. Specifically, the use of polycarbonate can provide benefits such as vehicle weight reduction, occupant containment and design flexibility. Polycarbonate is a highly versatile material that offers unique properties for to styling, design-driven challenges and reduces the weight compared to glass in today's highly competitive automotive market. At the same time, polycarbonate reduces the weight compared to a similar glass surface area up to 30% and has, due to its ductility and high resistance, significant advantages in active and passive passenger safety. However, scratch resistance is not so good.

In this study, to use polycarbonate for automobile application, we studied hard coating on polycarbonate and checked over application possibility in automotive. And manufacturing system was used compressed moulding system.
