Efficiently solving manufacturing issues within limited and tight time becomes the key to achieve successful development of an auto-body model. The authors propose to construct a decision-making system using Case-based Reasoning(CBR) method to support resolving auto-body manufacturing issues. A reasoning mechanism, which aims at meet the accuracy requirement of the system during the generation of corresponding problem solutions, has been setup utilizing axiomatic design method to help analyze issues and diagnose failure mode. A real case of door closing effort problem is used to illustrate so called method. The system proposed manages to increase the solving efficiency of engineers to deal with auto-body manufacturing issues.
