In 2007 MAGNA STEYR hosted the annual future dialogue "mobility 2066" for the second time. This conference was not expected to offer recommendations for activities in the near future but to make attendees aware of future developments.

Participants confirmed that they would perceive topics like climate change, types of mobility or technologies for generating energy more consciously and more attentively in the media and in their surroundings. Even their everyday actions had changed to some extend. Participants from various disciplines were invited, in order to create a view of the future within these two days, which would be as heterogeneous as possible. MAGNA STEYR associates, representatives of market research, press, politics, the organic food branch, consultants and people who are physically challenged in their mobility were amongst the attendees of the conference.

2066 was chosen as the scope on purpose to allow for more dissociation from the present. In small task groups, 30 participants worked on views of the future up to 2066 within the two days. The many ideas ranged from taking a look at the distant future in the beginning and towards the end of the conference, recommendations for actions as well as questions for the near future were elicited from these rather abstract views of the future. Upcoming challenges for the automotive industry were considered in particular.
