ABSTRACT
The aim of the paper is to present correlations between CFD computations and PIV measurements in a production car’s underhood. The paper will explain the adapted geometry of the car, the measurement setup, the numerical setup and the CFD results in comparison with the measurements. Different configurations of fan (without fan, fan off and fan on) have been tested. The numerical results are in fairly good agreement with the measurements, particularly when the fan is not rotating.
