Abstract
A driver’s operating performance of a vehicle is limited in emergency conditions. Because of this, the importance of vehicle safety technology geared to collision avoidance increases. In this research,a steered vehicle’s automatic steering ability using the ‘Active Torque Steering system’ (ATSaa) is clarified through simulations. The proposed ATS vehicle has good rotationality as a characteristic of vehicle dynamics, and includes both an Active Front Steering (AFS) system and a Direct Yaw Movement Control (DYC) system. Tire force usage and critical Time To Collision (TTC), in which successful avoidance was achieved, is examined in this analysis. The effectiveness of collision avoidance using automatic steering with an ATS vehicle control is confirmed
