Abstract

As a result of long-driving experiments, characteristics of the effects ofthe brain arousal level of a driver are categorized to two groups, one that appears in the change of the driving performance, and the other that appears in CEM(Cerebral Exponent Macroscopic). It inferred that the difference was owed to the driver’s personalities which were shown in driver behavior . We examined the relationship between CEM, driving performance, and personal driver behavior. As a result, we found that the driver whose CEM data change depending on the driving conditions intends to improve driving performance to a certain level. In a word, it is concluded that the driver’s brain arousal level could be estimated by CEM, if the driver has the characteristics to drive in high attention to driving performance with marginal workload.
