Abstract
The flywheel device which can control the attitude of the motorcycle is proposed, and the effects of the device on improvement of motorcycle dynamics are discussed. The control system using the flywheel device is designed and numerical experiments using multi-body-dynamics simulation are conducted. As a result, it is concluded that the proposed methodology using the device can control new degree of freedom in motorcycle’s motion to improve the rider’s maneuverability and can contribute to decrease traffic accidents of motorcycles.
