Abstract

In case of road accidents or flood, people get stuck inside the car as the doors and windows jam. Jamming is the consequence of either power system failure or damage of doors. Even though the modern cars are capable of protecting the passengers from severe impact, they don't help them to get out quickly. This makes it difficult for the people to rescue the victims in time and eventually they lose their life. The proposed solution solves this problem by collapsing the electric power windows down in a fraction of seconds at the instant of impact. The impact is detected by the Inertial Measurement unit (IMU). It sends the signal to the controller. The controller activates an igniter which ignites a mild explosive inside the seat belt pretensioner. As the seatbelt pretensioner is connected to the window glass, this explosion pulls the windows down in time aking a way out for the passengers.
