Abstract
Early design of automotive products, stylists who designed the new car styling were not based on the Aerodynamic theory. Therefore, the new styling often has larger drag coefficient, without considering the Aerodynamic performance. To deal with this issue, an advanced Aerodynamic optimization method was used to solve the problem. The CFD engineers can run this optimization quickly to find out the right optimization direction which will deliver a first design proposal to the styling designer in early design phases.
