Abstract

In today’s world with highly improved Navigation Systems, travelling to places has become very easy. People prefer to travel to different and distant places using their own mode of transport rather than available public transport because of comfort and time constraints. Travelling in own vehicles require prior knowledge on connecting roads to reach the destination in a lesser time. Traversing through all the places within stipulated time will be possible only when people find an optimized route connecting all the places possible making the journey a memorable one. The problem that will be addressed in our paper is to optimize the fuel consumption and provide an optimized schedule for multiple places the driver wishes to cover in a trip. The paper talks about finding the optimized schedule to cover the multiple places the driver plans to travel in his trip. The inputs given to algorithm will be the initial source where to start the trip from, a final destination the user plans to visit at last during his travel and the list of places planned between source and destination. Sequence of places, speed limits throughout the routes, fuel use, estimated duration, fuel stations on the way will be displayed. It would also suggest a few other places on the way if people wish to cover during their travel. The best time to be visited will also be suggested to have an adorable journey for the people. If the suggested route is bypassed or missed for any reason, then the algorithm takes care of updating the route based on the current location of the vehicle. The best places to accommodate themselves during the night will also be displayed according the route suggested. In the existing navigation systems, if the driver wants to visit multiple locations during the travel, he/she has to check for nearest place (amongst multiple places) after visiting every place and then plan for the next place accordingly. Our solution will overcome this problem by providing the optimized route for all the multiple places the driver wishes to travel. This solution enables drivers to travel hassle free avoiding last minute rush. The features of this solution enable more inclination towards easy user interface, comfort and reliability.
