ECU Software Platform Development and Application Approach

Abstract

Considering platform vehicle development, ECU is always developed for same hardware and different software to fulfil the requirement of different vehicle configuration. Facing this situation, an approach which is based on vehicle configuration for ECU software coding is presented for reducing cost of ECU component development and management, being convenient for updating vehicle configuration in this paper. First step of the approach, the logical relationship between ECU customer function and vehicle configuration information is defined. Then ECU software is integrated for all function during development phase. The function information data which ECU need to implement for this vehicle is transmitted to ECU by diagnostic request from diagnostic tool when vehicle is assembly in plant. EOL equipment know that what content should be transmitted to ECU, reference to logical relationship when vehicle configuration is fixed. After receiving information data, ECU implement relevant function based on data meaning.
