Abstract

Rear wheel steering is a system for controlling the rear axle by an actuator to improve steering stability and responsiveness. The logic of operation and steering direction of the rear wheels depends on certain conditions such as the driver's intention, the dynamics of the vehicle, internal fault signals and etc. During RWS operation, cooperative and assist control are performed with ICC system connected to chassis CAN to exchange relevant data. In this paper, in consideration of these characteristics of RWS system, the integrated operation environment for evaluation is introduced to carry out HILS control, diagnostics, signal control and behavior monitoring of RWS based on vehicle HILS. In addition, by utilizing this solution, test engineer can process and analyze the result data after a certain evaluation. In conclusion, it enables comprehensive and efficient evaluation prior to the integration test of the real vehicle.
